Alberta Food Festivals & Events

Metropolis – Edmonton International Winter Festival, weekends from 31 December 2011- 20 February 2012, Sir Winston Churchill Square, Downtown Edmonton. Evening to Support, February 2, 2012, 5:00 pm – 10 pm, Winspear Centre, Edmonton, Alberta. This underground-inspired event, hosted by The Support Network in partnership with MNP, features fine cuisine, silent auctions and lively entertainment to keep the night going. Saskatchewan Food Festivals & Events

PotashCorp Wintershines Saskatoon, January 28 – February 12th, various locations in Saskatoon. Some free events. PotashCorp Wintershines features an ice park with a climbing wall, zipline and luge. Manitoba Food Festivals & Events

Le Festival du Voyageur, February 17-26, 2012, Tickets: $22 Adults, $5 Children. Western Canada’s largest winter festival celebrates Canada’s fur trading era and combines the joie de vivre of the voyageurs with more than 300 music performances, magnificent snow sculptures, historical interpretation of the early 19th century at Fort Gibraltar, live entertainment, traditional dishes, arts and crafts, the voyageur International Sled Dog Classic, a governor’s ball. http://festivalvoyageur.mb.ca/festival-du-voyageur/
