Alberta Food Festivals & Events
Heritage Festival, 4 – 6 August, Hawrelak Park, Edmonton. Heritage Festival 2012 marks the 37th annual of this premier three-day showcase of Canada’s vibrant multicultural heritage. We will feature 62 pavilions representing over eighty-five cultures from all over the world. Sample culinary delicacies, see creative performances, shop for crafts, artwork, and clothing, or chat with people eager to tell you a little about their cultural roots and their present-day communities in Canada. http://www.heritage-festival.com/
Heritage Day, 6 August 2012, 11 AM – 4 PM, Fort McMurray. Admission by donation. Heritage Day is a popular community event hosted by Heritage Park. Heritage Day, 6 August 2012, 12.00 PM – 4 PM, Grande Prairie Museum, Grande Prairie. 14th Annual Fish Fry, 8 August 2012, 4.30 – 7 PM, Cold Lake. Bring the whole family down to this yearly anticipated event, which features the best feed of fish around. Open seating… so first come first serve. Contact the Chamber office for tickets. http://www.coldlakechamber.ca/
Cariwest – Edmonton Caribbean Arts Festival, 10 – 12 August 2012, Edmonton. The festival brings Edmonton 3 days of the sweet sounds of a steel pan, West Indian cuisines, and the Mas band parade- all to the tune of calypso music. http://www.cariwestfestival.com/
Cream Day Family Festival, 12 August 2012, 12 – 5 PM, Markerville. Markerville Creamery Museum is gearing up for Cream Day. The day is packed with many activities that will appeal to any age. The day will feature a line-up of local, talented musicians; ice-cream and butter making lessons; free tours of the museum; great activities for children, such as a bouncy castle, a petting zoo, among many other activities. Calgary Reggaefest, 18 August 2012, Shaw Millennium Park, Calgary. Calgary ReggaeFest’s Main Stage event isn’t just for Reggae fans. It’s a full day family event that transcends racial, cultural and musical boundaries. With live performances from Canadian and international Reggae artistes, ReggaeFest features a beer garden, separate youth area, and plenty of arts & crafts. Corn Roast and Kids Festival, 18 August 2012, 12 – 4 PM, Spruce Grove.
