Yelp’s Food Cart Fest – Sundays through August til Sept 2nd, 12pm – 6pm, Waldorf Hotel, 1489 Hastings Street E, Vancouver. Come check out an assortment of Vancouver’s food trucks each week in the Waldorf parking lot. A 19+ beer garden, live music, and other arts vendors will also be in attendance. Bull’s-Eye Canadian National BBQ Championships Aug 3-5 Dusty’s Bar, Whistler Creekside. Professional BBQ at it’s best with the 11th annual Backyard Burger Championship, CASI Canadian International Chili Championship Chili judging, Budweiser King of the Grill, pork butt judging, Ravenswoon Cork & Pork judging, Beef Brisket judging and much much more. Smoking Sausage BBQ Cookoff Aug 4th, 5pm-9pm, Laneway west of Main Street between Broadway and East 8th Ave. $3. The 2nd annual smoking sausage BBQ showcases the specially crafted sausages made by local Mt Pleasant restaurants. Eat and vote! All proceeds to the Vancouver Food Bank. This is billed as an outdoor family friendly event.
Best of the West Aug 8th, 7-9pm, Ambleside Pier, West Vancouver, $100/ticket. Presented by Harmony Arts Festival, 13 of the North Shore’s best restaurants will be paired with 13 BC wineries and tasked with creating complementary dishes. Guests will vote on their favourite pairing. Best of the West

Winemaker Dinners on Whistler Mountain Aug 11, 6pm. Steeps Grill & Wine Bar. $99. Enjoy a full course dinner paired with some of BC’s best wines paired by the winemakers themselves. Whistler Blackcomb
Liberty Wine’s Bottles and Bangers Aug 16th 7:30-9:30pm, Vancouver Rowing Club, Stanley Park. $29.99. Tickets available at all Liberty Wine Merchants. This event (which sells out quickly) will feature wines from the Southern Hemisphere with proceeds going to amateur sport in BC. More info
Japadog Eating Contest at YVR Aug 17th, 12:30pm – 1:00pm, Vancouver International Airport, International Departures, Level 3 – The Spirit of Haida Gwaii: Jade Canoe sculpture. Enter at Japadog’s YVR cart between now and August 8th for a chance to compete. All participants will receive $15 in YVR bucks and a $10 Japadog GC.
