Les Premiers Vendredis. The first Friday of every month, starting at 4PM. Secteur 300 of the Olympic Park, Montreal. First Friday events bring together the leading street restaurants in Montreal, hosted by Les Restaurateurs de Rue du Québec. On the first Friday of the month, the vans and trucks converted into mobile kitchens will meet in Secteur 300 to serve their food in the first part of this of street food integrated initiative in Montreal. Pop-up Ethique. August 5th, 2012, 10AM. $45. Marie-Eve Savarin (of Brutalimentation) and Amélie Piéron (of Chlorophylle en Lémurie intérieure) will be preparing a fabulous vegan brunch from fresh, locally available ingredients. Montreal’s Italian Week.  August 10–19th, 2012.  Various events around Montreal include a comedy night, a best tiramisu contest, and a bocce tournament. http://italianweek.ca/en/

Three Stars (Movie). August 10th – 16th, 7:15. Cinema du Parc. This movie focuses on nine Michelin starred chefs and their everyday life. http://www.cinemaduparc.com/english/affichee.php?id=3stars#top

A Midsummer Night’s Organic Wine Tasting. August 13th, 2012. $40 per person. Lawrence restaurant’s sommelier Etheliya Hananova will guide you through the world of organic wines. Attendees will get to taste four organic wines (two red and two white), served alongside four appetizers, all while learning what “organic” wine means. Fêtes gourmandes de Delisle.  August 17th–19th, 2012.  Delisle, Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean.  Several activities are onsite including sampling local products, dishes made from local producers and a battle of the chefs.  http://www.fetesgourmandes.com/

Omnivore tour. August 17–20, 2012. The Omnivore food tour will be making a stop in Montreal in August, and is definitely not to be missed. Various restaurants around the city will be participating by offering special dinner menus for the event. There will also be demos given at the SAT Food Lab between 11AM and 5:15PM each day. Ste-Anne-de-Bellevue Garlic Festival. August 18th, 9am – 2pm. St-Anne Farmers Market in St-Anne-de-Bellevue. Anyone who loves garlic will love this food fest featuring garlic talks, a garlic dessert challenge, garlicky foodstuff, and demos. http://steannegarlicfestival.wordpress.com/

Omnivorous party. August 18th, 2012, 7PM. $43.05 (presale price). SAT (1201 Saint-Laurent, Montreal). This will be the largest Omnivorour event organized, involving 1,000 guests in a 4,500 m2 area. La Venue Culinaire. August 23rd, 2012, 6PM. Quai Jacques-Cartier, Vieux Port de Montréal, $50. With Montreal’s growing excitement over street food comes another street food event at the Old Port. http://www.lavenueculinaire.com/

Fiesta des Cultures de Saint-Rémi.  August 24th–26th, 2012.  This festival celebrates the presence of foreign agriculture workers in the area and for three days Saint-Rémi transforms to allow visitors to discover Latin America through food, dance, music, history and art.  http://www.fiestadescultures.com/
