Red Hot Summer Release Party Saturday July 7th. Embrace the summer heat with a tasting of our new and exclusive 2010 reds. These reds are some of the best Riverview has ever produced with a growing season that was long, hot a dry – just what our red grapes like. Start with classic favourites; the Merlot 2010 and the Pinot Noir 2010 and ease your way into limited quantity wines that are not normally open for tasting; our first-ever Syrah 2010 and our new meritage blend, Barrel 21 2010. We’ll also throw in some surprise tastings of two pre-released, 2010 whites! Cool off the reds with some local gourmet cheeses and fruit. Chef’s Dinner Table Saturday July 14 - Come behind the scenes at Peller Estates Winery Restaurant and discover how Winery Chef and CityLine personality Jason Parsons approaches the art of pairing wine and food. Your dining experience begins with a reception in Jason’s kitchen where he will discuss collaborating with our winemaker and his approach to developing innovative food and wine pairings. Ribfest & Craft Beer Show July 20-22 Kitchener. Barbequed ribs and chicken, great craft-brewed beer, live entertainment – all in the great atmosphere of Victoria Park. Life doesn’t get much better! Bring your friends, family and co-workers and savour the flavour of the Downtown Kitchener Ribfest & Craft Beer Show! Admission is free but donations to The Food Bank of Waterloo Region will be accepted at the gate. Fins, Foul and Flint Saturday July 21. You’ll be “in like Flint” when we take you up to the Cave Spring Vineyard on the scenic Niagara escarpment to sample mineral-laden Chardonnays presented by their makers, then whisk you away to the Cave Spring wine cellars in Jordan Village for a barrel room feast of local fish and fowl. It’s a rare opportunity to sample dozens of cool climate Chardonnays. We’ll tuck in to a four course lunch prepared by Inn on the Twenty Restaurant Executive Chef Frank Romano – who skilfully pairs each course with two different Chardonnays. Barrie Hill Farms Blueberry Pancake Festival July 28-29. Come and join us as we celebrate the blueberry harvest. Ride the wagon out to the field to pick blueberries or buy them ready picked at our new farm market. We will also be serving pancakes, with sausage, real maple syrup, juice and/or coffee, from 8:00 am until 3:00 pm. The breakfast will be cooked and served for you by the members of The Knights of Columbus to raise money for The Simcoe Muskoka Regional Cancer Centre.
