Farmers’ Markets and Market Events in Toronto

Fall Local Food Office Market by Alimentary Initiatives, *NEW!* month of October.  Thursdays, 4pm-7pm.  117 Bloor Street East outside on the courtyard of St. Andrew’s United Church of Canada.  In partnership with the Food Network, St. Andrew’s United Church of Canada, and Shaw Media, Alimentary Initiatives is back with a brand new office market for the fall season with an even BIGGER line-up of local food vendors!  Grab a snack, grab dinner, grab food to bring home at this local food market situated by one of the busiest, bustling intersections of the city!  Enjoy fare from Monforte Dairy, Nice Buns, Hooked Inc., Yorktown Pies, ChocoSol, Red Pocket Farms, meats from By Amos, Bix Bakery, and Mr. Spinners!  This new local food market no only serves to promote local businesses and the Good Food Sector, it is also a charitable initiative as cash donations will be accepted at the market for The Yonge Street Mission.

Metro Hall Farmers’ Market, year-round.  Thursdays, 8am-2pm.  During the winter (November-April), last Thursday of every month in the CBC Broadcasting Building at 250 Front Street West.  During the summer (May-October), every Thursday starting May 31st at Simcoe Place Park just outside the CBC building, and at David Pecaut Square at 221 King Street West thereafter.

North York Civic Centre Farmers’ Market, May 31 – October 25.  Thursdays, 8am-2:30pm.  5100 Yonge Street, just north of Elmwood Avenue.  The farmers’ market, with its vast array of baked goods, fruits, vegetables, meats, cheeses, and more, takes place outdoors at Mel Lastman Square.

Pedestrian Sundays at Kensington Market, October 28.  12pm-7pm.  Kensington Market (west of Spadina Ave., eats of Bellevue Ave., south of College Street, north of Dundas Street West).  Pedestrian Sundays are back for their 9th year!  Come out and enjoy the street festivals, market vendors, street food, and more on the last Sunday of the month – car and traffic free!  Streets are closed off to car traffic during Pedestrian Sunday hours.  http://www.pskensington.ca/
