22nd Annual Chili Cook-Off, 11.30 AM – 1.30 PM, 2 November 2012, Churchill Square Edmonton, AB. The Chili Cook Off has been filling bellies and raising temperatures for 22 years and now has a proud spot in the city-wide River City Round Up festival. No celebration of our agricultural and western heritage roots would be complete without a nod to the quintessential cowboy dish. The Chili Cook Off will be held in a heated tent right on the Square – giving you a chance preview the Festival’s Kick Off location. Rocky Mountain Food and Wine Festival Edmonton, 2 – 3 November 2012, Shaw Conference Centre, Edmonton. Tickets, various prices. Rocky Mountain Wine & Food Festival The Rocky Mountain Wine & Food Festival returned for its 11th year in Edmonton! Attendees sampled an impressive selection of premium wines, spirits, and import and micro-brewed beer, as well as cuisine from a diverse group of Edmonton’s top restaurants, food purveyors and hotels. Ag for Life – Harvest Gala, 6:00 PM, 3 November 2012, Calgary, This reinvigorated Gala event will feature a masterful fusion of urban and rural themes, an upscale dinner menu, locally produced foods, the sights and sounds of Alberta artists, a silent auction, an ode to agriculture and a unique community market concept. Tickets are $250 each or $2,000 for a table of eight. Christmas in Markerville, 2, 3 – 4 November 2012, Markerville, AB. Visit us on November 2nd, 3rd & 4th for our annual Christmas Market. Our historic sites will showcase local artisans, food gifts, Christmas decorations, clothing, jewelry, our famous Cookie Walk and much more.
