EatIn EatOut – the Holiday (and first anniversary!) issue is here!

It’s here – the Holiday issue of EatIn EatOut magazine. Not only is it the magazine’s first anniversary but also the biggest issue yet – 130 pages in total! This month, EIEO welcomes new staff member Zannat Reza, MHSC RD as the Nutrition Editor.

So what’s inside? This month’s celebrity feature is Anna Olson with a Christmas Yule Log recipe (pp 10-11).  This month’s book features include FBC member Mairlyn Smith‘s “The Vegetarian’s Complete Quinoa Cookbook” and a recipe for Autumn Apple Quinoa Crepes (pp 12-13)  and “Complete Cake Mix Magic – 300 Easy Desserts Good as Homemade” by Jill Snider with a recipe for Cranberry Almond Coffee Cake (pp 14-15)

This issue features four holiday party menus (pp 20 – 51):  roast beef dinner options with FBC2013 presenting sponsor and friend Canada Beef and Campbell’s Stock First Beef Broth, a New Years Eve tapas menu, a hot chocolate buffet featuring guest editor Jo-Ann from finefrostings.com and finally a chicken with wine party with then Chicken Farmers of Canada, Château des Charmes wines and Emilie Henry.

What to do with all those leftovers? Well EIEO can help you out with Second Time Around (pp 90 – 95) – a feature on using turkey leftovers with FBC2013 sponsor Turkey Farmers of Canada. Doesn’t this look amazing??

The winners of the exclusive FBC/EIEO holiday cookie contest are revealed on pages 52 -61 – way to go to bake for the holidays FBC members!!!

This issue also features celebration meals from around the world (pp 62 – 69), an interview with Lindsay from the blog A Pinch of Yum (pp 70 – 75).  This month’s Eat In bloggers (pp 76-89) are FBC members The Baking Beauties, Dinner with Julie, Dragon’s Kitchen and Feeding Ethan, as well as Creative Culinary and Cake Duchess, while the issue’s Eat Out bloggers this month are Droolius, Braised & Confused, Tastebud Guides and Traveleater (pp 102 – 111).  Finally, Lori takes us on a tour of the Okanagan Valley (pp 114 – 121) and Natalie Maclean talks about wine and food pairings (pp 122 – 125) – handy with the holidays coming up!
