Name: Robin Sharp
Blog name and URL: If Looks Could Fill (http://iflookscouldfill.
Where were you born? Nelson, British Columbia
Where are you living now? Toronto, Ontario
Why did you start your blog? I started my blog because I loved photographing food and sharing my favourite restaurants with others.
How did you decide on your blog name? My husband, Richard, came up with it. He's great at coming up with quirky names like that.
What do you blog about? I started out blogging mostly restaurant reviews, but more and more it's become a blog about food events in the city.
What post are you most proud of and why? I would have to say that it would be the post about La Carnita's pop-up at F-Stop in August of 2011. It was so much fun to be a part of that day.
Which post do you wish received more love and why? I don't really pay very close attention to the stats on my blog, so I'm not even sure which of my posts have and have not received love! I don't really get a lot of people talking about my "Market Finds" posts, which I really enjoy doing.
Which post’s success surprised you and why? I wouldn't say that it surprised me that it was a popular post, but I continue to be overwhelmed by how many people have viewed my first post about Toronto Underground Market.
What is one (non-kitchen) gadget you can’t live without? I don't think that I could live without my Android phone. I know that it's the most obvious answer to give to this question, but it's true.
What is one kitchen gadget you can’t live without? I don't own a lot of "gadgets", but I do love my immersion blender! It makes so many tasks so much easier.
Favourite food, care to share a recipe? I eat vegetarian at home about 90% of the time to make up for all of the meat that I consume when I eat out! One of my favourite recipes is this Tempeh Curry from 101 Cookbooks. I usually make it with coconut milk instead of the water, which makes it taste kind of like butter chicken, but of good for you and with no butter or chicken.
What else should we know about you that may or not be in your “About Me” page? I'm going to be running a food photography workshop at FBC2013! I'll be showing people how to take stunning photos for their blogs using natural light or easy and inexpensive lighting set-ups. I want to focus on helping both at-home cooks and bloggers like me who take most of their photos in restaurants that are often dimly lit.
What makes your blog unique? I believe that my background in photography (I have been a photographer for 7 years) has given me a unique approach to food blogging.
