Welcome to the second annual FBC Holiday Roundup! We had so many entries this year that we've split the roundup into two parts. In part one we're covering off Christmas Eve and Christmas dinner. In Part 2 on Thursday, we'll be all about the sweet treats!
We're kicking it off with Christmas Eve and getting ready for the visit from the big guy himself - Santa of course! And with a plate full of Melissa's Christmas Cookies over at UpBeet, you know he's going to be extra jolly!
It is physically impossible and morally wrong to have a Canadian Christmas recipe roundup that doesn't have Butter Tarts included. Good thing Bernice at Dish n the Kitchen kept us legit with her recipe!
We have it on very good authority that Santa loves fudge. And we're pretty sure he couldn't resist Cindy's Double Chocolate Candy Cane Fudge over at Hun What's For Dinner? (we'd cave to the temptation too, Santa!)
Whether they're for Santa or for a cookie exchange, Joann at Woman In Real Life has got Coconut Pecan Chocolate Chunk Cookies that will make you a favourite!
And speaking of cookie swaps, Mairlyn Smith shares her Cookie Swap story along with Ginger Chocolate Shorbread.
Shortbread is synonymous with Christmas and Mama B at My Edible Journey passed along her recipe for Butter Nut Shortbread to add to your list!
And for another take on classic shortbread we have Nicole at Culinary Cool with her delightful pistachio cranberry cardamom version!
Once the stocking are hung by the chimney with care, send the kiddies off to bed with Sugar Plums from Susie and Colleen at Moose Curry Experience.
After you've fed Santa and made sure he's delivered all his goodies, why not kick up your feet and enjoy a home made Iced Vanilla Latte from Julie at Sober Julie.
Jeanine at The Baking Beauties had so many requests for a gluten free sticky monkey bread for Christmas morning that she thought she'd share her recipe in our roundup!
If Christmas brunch is more your style then you'll want to give Marie-Eve's Jerusalem Artichoke Thyme Souffle a look over at Craving Greens!
If entertaining is on your mind then you'll want to check out Karen at K--ravings post on getting holiday party prepared to keep all your guests happy!
You can kick of your entertaining with some help from John and Jennifer at CrustCrumbs who have the solution for your cocktail needs with their very fun Christmas Cocktail Roundup. 5 in 1!
Making shortbread savory is always a welcome way to switch it up just like Carol at the Yum Yum Factor did with this Spicy Cheddar Shorbread.
Tempt everyone's appetites before dinner with the Cheesy Prosciutto Pizza Bites from Nadia at Life Over Easy. That's some serious tempting!
Phyllis at Oracibo shared her Christmas memories that included these gorgeous Tuscan Dates.
For a twist on the classic Brussel sprouts at Christmas dinner, why not try the Winter Brussel Sprout Slaw that Wanda at Bakers Beans cooked up - we spy bacon in there!
Spanish Seafood Stew sounds like a great way to celebrate the Feast of the Seven Fishes for Christmas like Maryam at Phoodographs shares with us.
And last but not least, top of Christmas dinner with these beautifully delicate Pizzelle Italian Waffle Cookies from Jennifer at The Best Thing I Ever Ate.
We'll be back on Thursday with Part 2 of our Holiday Roundup chock full of sweet treats! You'll want to check it out for sure.
And big thanks to all our contributing members for their sharing their festive posts!
What a wonderful round up! Incredibly talented Canadian bakers and cooks out there. I crave a giant Food Bloggers of Canada Potluck! Right now!
🙂
