About FBC
Food Bloggers of Canada came together as a way for Canadian Food bloggers to connect, network and find resources to expand their blogging knowledge. Our goal is to provide a friendly place for food and beverage bloggers to come together, learn, share and socialize, all with a uniquely Canadian perspective and Canadian resources.
The organization was founded in 2011 by friends and fellow food bloggers Mardi Michels, Melissa Hartfiel and Ethan Adeland. With their backgrounds in food, marketing, event management, teaching, writing, photography and design, as well as homes that spanned the country from east to west, they knew they had a unique opportunity to bring together the many talented food bloggers across Canada.
The Goals of the FBC
Our first and foremost goal is to provide a Canadian perspective and content on food blogging for our members and all activity on the site will reflect that.
- provide members with Canadian content and educational resources
- provide our members with ways to connect, network and socialize on and offline
- create a community that fosters co-operation and encourages beginner and experienced bloggers alike
- host a Canadian Food blogging conference by 2013
- have fun

What About a Canadian Food Blogging Event?
We hear you!! We want nothing more than to bring you a Canadian Food Blogging Conference. But conferences require money, sponsors and attendees and we aren’t there yet. But rest assured, it is on our agenda and we are taking small steps towards that goal every day.
In the meantime, one of the best things you can do to ensure we can make that happen is support the association and be an active member. An active membership is probably the single best thing we can do to bring about a conference. So get involved, join the forums, volunteer where you can and give us your feedback! We want to make this happen!
