Ethan Adeland

Ethan has worked for some of the most recognizable sports brands in the world. From 2005-2009, Ethan was the Retail Buyer for the Montreal Canadiens of the National Hockey League. He was responsible for managing the inventory and assisting in the design of merchandise. He also coordinated the retail program for both the 2009 NHL All-Star Game in Montreal and the Canadiens’ Centennial anniversary in 2009. Wanting a new opportunity, he packed up his car and drove from Montreal to Vancouver to work for the Vancouver Organizing Committee for the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games (VANOC). He was the Venue Manager for the training venue where the men’s ice hockey teams practiced. In 2011, he joined the BC Lions Football Club as Merchandise Manager. In addition to winning a Grey Cup championship in 2011, he oversaw a department that broke all sales records in team history.

Ethan’s education is varied with a business degree in Sports Administration from the John Molson School of Business in Montreal and an MA in Early Modern English History from Concordia University. In his free time, he likes to quote Seinfeld references in everyday conversation and dream of where he’d like to surf next. Ethan currently resides in Vancouver.

Melissa Hartfiel

Melissa Hartfiel

Melissa is the author of Eyes Bigger Than My Stomach a blog about food, photography, and her creative life. When she's not eating or photographing food, she runs her own design firm, Fine Lime Designs, with clients in the food, arts and tourism sectors.  She has photographed and styled food for Sharwood Foods, Tree of Life and Mexico Tourism among others.

Before leaping into the world of being an entrepreneur, she worked for a national retailer as a Business Intelligence Analyst & Developer, designing corporate on-line and off-line reporting tools.  She also managed the technology solutions for the retailer's annual trade show and conference.  Prior to that she has an extensive retail background in training, management, merchandising and community marketing.  She has been blogging in some form since 2004, when she started out on the Live Journal platform.

Melissa is a graduate of Simon Fraser University and BCIT, an avid supporter of the arts, incurable doodler, owner of too many cookbooks and shoes, and human to SamTheDog, a bouncy yellow lab who serves as the FBC Chief  Morale Officer. She is on an ongoing quest for the perfect Mac n Cheese.  Melissa has lived throughout BC and in London, England and currently lives on the west coast, just outside of Vancouver.

Marlene is a kitchen adventurer and steward of an urban century cottage in London, ON. She's the voice behind the blog Urban Cottage Life, writing about modern scratch living with a focus on real food and hospitality.

Lisa Bolton is a food stylist, culinary content creator and author.  She focuses on whole food recipes that will please a carnivore, vegetarian and everything in between.  She has an affinity toward family style plating and thoughtful presentation which is reflected in her first book, On Boards (Appetite, Oct, 2018).

Bryan is a self-described introvert who spends the majority of his time reading, writing, gaming, or just staring out the window of his apartment. He recently published a psychological thrillers What Dark Passages. A creature of contradiction, Bryan also enjoys skiing, hiking, biking, soccer, and hockey. He also likes to endanger his own life by engaging in activities such as skydiving, paragliding, and riding a bike across Europe.

There’s another thing Bryan loves – beer!
