Each week, to help our readers with their meal planning,  we invite an FBC member to put together a weekly menu plan based on recipes from their blog that includes a week’s worth of dinners from Sunday to Saturday. We include a printable shopping list so you can get everything you need and be ready to cook. And you’ll get introduced to some new recipes and meet some great new Canadian food blogs!

The FBC Weekly Menu Plan with She Eats

This week we've invited Kristy Gardner from She Eats to fill our plates with beautiful seasonal and local bounty.  Take it away Kristy!

Sometimes meal planning can seem like such a process! Especially when I'd rather be on the patio with a bourbon in one hand and a good book in the other. But it really does make my week - and the meals I inhale during it - so much easier.

I believe in eating locally, in season and as often as possible. Most of my meals involve some kind of cheese, sustainably caught fish, bold wine or pastured meat and I tend to prefer slow food over fast. I'm really an equal opportunity eater. That being said, my CSA (community supported agriculture) box program and the farmer's markets keep PLENTY of vegetables on my table year round. And I'm grateful for that.

I hope this meal plan helps you create healthy, locally seasonal and ridiculously delicious meals for your dinner table - be it your family, your friends, your partner or just your own bad self! Eat, drink, nourish, laugh and enjoy.

Super Simple & Delicious Spot Prawn Shellfish Pot

The best thing about this dish is how quickly it comes together. It looks stellar fancy (which is sometimes what a gal needs midweek to make it to the weekend) but is uber simple. Feel free to sub regular prawns or any other fish you prefer if you don't have access to spot prawns.

Round off the meal with dessert: Molten Chocolate Lava Cake

Corn is cheap and plentiful right now and every Summer, I eat as many of these bad boys as humanly possible. Corn and lime? Count me in! Make extra to reheat for breakfast on the weekend - you'll love em!
