Each week, to help our readers with their meal planning, we invite an FBC member to put together a weekly menu plan based on recipes from their blog that includes a week’s worth of dinners from Sunday to Saturday. We include a printable shopping list so you can get everything you need and be ready to cook. And you’ll get introduced to some new recipes and meet some great new Canadian food blogs!
This week we join Karen Ahmed from Kravings Blog with an exotic twist on the weekly meal plan.
This weeks meal plan will take you on an exotic journey! You may have to stock up on some new interesting ingredients, but will be able to spin these into delicious delights for many future recipes. Plan ahead, buy your meats and ingredients and make sure you have your tools and gadgets ready. No passport required.
Let’s start today by prepping a lazy Sunday delight. This is one of India’s most popular dishes, however it may have originated in England. Use boneless chicken and marinate it in a tandoori spice blend(from my recipe chest or store bought) for maximum flavour. This dish is meant to pack some heat, but if you can’t take it … Don’t get out of the kitchen, just counter the spice with additional tomatoes and cream.

You’ve worked so hard yesterday that today we’re going to take a break and use the leftovers to prepare this insanely easy twist on the Mac & Cheese. My Maharaja’s Mac & Cheese will have everyone, even the kids asking for more.

Let’s get Oriental today! Chilli Chicken is very simple to prepare and has so much flavor, it can be enjoyed with plain Jasmine Rice or Noodles.
Everyone has this basic ingredient at home and today we’re going to transform this into a delicious and simple Egg Curry. If you have Jasmine rice leftover from yesterday, it is a perfect accompaniment. If not you can eat it with some plain basmati rice.
Today is Fish Fry day! Try my very simple Lahori Fish Recipe. You can make them bite size as in my recipe or cut bigger strips if fish. Either way they are delicious and fantastic with some salad on the side
And tonight is party night! And for this occasion we’re going to treat our tastebuds to a flavour explosion from the Middle East. Delicate Arabic pizza served with a colourful and flavourful Arabic Party Salad.
