Where are you living now? Richmond, BC

Why did you start your blog? I love food.

How did you decide on your blog name? For the love of food was taken and Follow Me Foodie was next thing that popped in my head.

What do you blog about? Food, restaurants, dining, food and culture, travel and food, recipes, food trends, food events, culinary competitions, dinner parties, food history... almost everything and anything to do with food.

What post are you most proud of and why? My Alinea post. I spent almost a week of 3 hours of sleep a day writing on that 6 hour dinner featuring 18 courses paired with wine. I learned so much and had to do tons of research which I loved every minute of. It was a labour of love, well the whole blog is, but my Alinea post ended up being 14,100+ words.

Which post do you wish received more love and why? All of them. My posts tend to be really long and detailed so I don't expect people to read much of them. If I had to say one, I'd say my Alinea post. Anything I spend an extensive amount of time researching and take extra care in writing doesn't get as many hits. If I post a photo of bacon or dessert it will go viral and flying even though it took me almost no thought process.

Which post’s success surprised you and why? My photo of bacon. It's just bacon guys. This wasn't a post though, it was just a photo. For posts, the most surprising was my S*** Foodies Say video. I didn't expect it to go beyond Vancouver, but it did! My 10 Characteristics of a Hipster Restaurant was also surprising!

What is one (non-kitchen) gadget you can’t live without? Computer. Does that count? If not, then my phone.

What is one kitchen gadget you can’t live without? Electronic jar opener... just kidding. That was a waste of money, but sometimes elastics, rubber gloves and hot water don't do it. I could live without my sous vide machine, but I wouldn't want to.

Favourite food, care to share a recipe? As Food Bloggers of Canada you should know that's almost the hardest question! I don't have a favourite food. It really depends on the cuisine and even then I don't think I could say. I have a recipe section on my blog too!

What else should we know about you that may or not be in your “About Me” page? They say it’s impossible to lick you elbow. That’s not true.

What makes your blog unique? I write it! I like to think I’m unique… or at least different.

Sous vide, eh? Me, too! Love it! I will have to investigate some of your recipes! So far, every one I have made has been a HIT and it is amazing to me that everyone doesn’t own this machine as it is so reasonably priced for the difference it makes in the food cooked in it!
