Every week we pull together some great Canadian recipes from Canadian food bloggers around the web featuring one main ingredient or dish. This week, we're featuring meatballs!
The meatball. It's a near perfect food.
Pop one in your mouth for a quick protein snack. Spear one (or 2 or 3 or a platter) with a toothpick and you have an appetizer people can eat while standing up without making a mess. Drown them in your favourite sauce and toss them with noodles or rice or veggies for dinner.
You can meal prep them ahead of time. You can make a huge batch and freeze them for quick and easy weeknight meals.
You don't even need to make them with meat!
Best of all, no matter what your favourite cuisine, there is a flavour combo that works. Almost every type of world cuisine has a variation on the meatball. Change up your spices and seasoning, experiment with your sauces, use unique fillers, change up your meat (or combine more than one meat) or try going meatless!
Best of all, these tiny little bite sized flavour bombs are a favourite with adults and kids alike. And most of them are so easy to make that you can easily let little hands join you in the kitchen - it's a great introduction to learning to cook dinner! Here's over 30 marvellous meatball ideas to get started with. Which is your favourite?
