When I was a kid, my dad used to make cheese dreams…a little dish he came up with all own his own – you take a bun (of any kind) and put cheese and pieces of ham on top, then broil for about 6 minutes.

It’s quick, easy and delicious!

My Dad could grill, my Dad made a mean breakfast, but once he made Beef Stroganoff and even the dog wouldn’t eat it! That put an end to his dinner making days, our stomachs were grateful.

Cooking is not my husband’s thing, to be honest. I do the cooking outside as well as in. If the question was what is his favourite grilled food, it would be steak, hands down.

I would probably get these items for my dad so that I could “borrow” them from him after 😉
He’s just so hard to shop for…

My dad used to make these awesome ground beef stuffed pitas. He’d make the filling and then stuff them into fresh pitas, and then wrap each in lots of newspaper to bake them in the oven. It was something he grew up eating in Cairo when he was younger and it was always so special when he made it. Also, he used to randomly make me a blended strawberry drink, a.k.a a crazy amount of strawberries blended with sugar and mint and maybe a little water and ice. It was a summertime surprise that he would randomly just put in front of me to have as a snack.

My husband isn’t a cook. He does like to BBQ steak, but that is about the only thing he can cook besides using the microwave or frying an egg. My Dad was an amazing cook! He was the BEST BBQ’er ever (and the only person who was able to make steak the way I like it), he could cook fish, and eggs, and turkey, and roast…you name it, my Dad could cook it and he could cook it better than anyone.
