Seb's Urban Adventures | Food Bloggers of Canada

Name: Sebastien Robillard

Blog name: Seb’s Urban Adventures

Where were you born? Montreal

Where are you living now? Montreal

Why did you start your blog?

I started by writing for a friend who had her blog and when she had to stop for family reasons I decided to continue on my own as I was getting good feedback from my posts

How did you decide on your blog name?

I’ve always travelled a lot and I was always fortunate enough to discover where ever I went good place to eat off the grid and fun activities to do so I thought that described well what I wanted to share in my posts

What do you blog about?

I blog about restaurants I discover or older ones I re-discover. I also share restaurants and activities to do in Montreal or in the different cities I visit.

What post on your blog most encapsulates you and why?

I would say it would be a post I made about San Diego, I got to spend 5 days there and I really got to try different restaurants and do some activities that I like to do when I visit a city. Hitting different neighborhoods and trying to see what there is to do.

Which post do you wish received more love and why?

I got a lot of love on the Le Bec a Vin post, It was the first time I was incorporating a chef’s interview in a post and I think my followers liked it.

Which post’s success surprised you and why?

It was actually not a post on food but a free concert that Wyclef Jean was giving during the Just For Laughs Festival, that post went viral and became one of my most popular posts.

What’s your biggest challenge as a blogger?

I would say that since I cover a lot of food it’s maintaining my weight lol. It’s tough to keep in shape with little time and all that delicious food to try.

Favourite food - care to share a recipe or a restaurant destination?

I’m a big fan of Italian food when it’s done well following the original recipes it doesn’t have to be complicated to be good.

What are you working on next for your blog?

I’m working on a monthly video segment to feature different mixologist that will show my followers how to mix cocktails both old school and more trendy.

What else should we know about you that may or not be in your “About Me” page?

Well I guess there’s a lot, I like to keep myself occupied! On top of blogging I’m a full time Senior Marketing Trade Show Consultant for one of the top manufacturers in the world. I’m also a photographer, I used to shoot a lot of fashion in the past. For activities it resumes in one sentence “ I love to do whatever your mom told you was too dangerous to do”

What makes your blog unique?

From the feedback I get, the uniqueness comes from the fact that I’m one of the rare guys to blog in this city. Most bloggers are female and people enjoy getting a man perspective on food and things to do in the city.

What part of the FBC site do you find most useful?

I really enjoy the blogger resources section of the site.
