FBC2015

We hope you're as excited as we are about attending FBC2015 in Montreal this October. Before you purchase your tickets we recommend you read our conference FAQs so you have all the information you need before making your decision.

The Bare Bones Details

  • When: 3pm Oct 23, 2015 - 3pm October 25, 2015
  • Where: Le Westin Hotel, 270 Saint-Antoine Ouest, Montreal, Quebec
  • Language: The conference will mainly be held in English but French translation services will be available for those who wish (please notify us in advance)

Who Should Attend

The conference is open to anyone who purchases a ticket but is geared towards professional development for food bloggers and of course, fun! Be prepared for inspirational, knowledgeable speakers.  Our sessions are designed for you to leave with practical takeaways you can put into action on your blog right away.

The conference is capped at 150 attendees, including bloggers, brands and speakers, in order to encourage as much one on one networking as possible over the course of the weekend.

To facilitate networking, most of our speakers and corporate sponsors will be in attendance throughout the weekend, giving you ample time to connect.

Our sponsors are looking to meet bloggers who are passionate about food in an intimate setting.  However, there will not be a brand expo or showcase.

The conference is also a single track of sessions with everyone in attendance at one time.  We are looking at incorporating a few pre-conference workshops that will not be included in regular ticket pricing.

This year we will also be implementing a blogger/brand networking event on Sunday afternoon, after lunch.

Ticket Pricing

Tickets range $449 - $899.  A special one day sale will be held on April 10, 2015.

Early bird pricing will be available for 4 weeks after tickets initially go on sale.

Tickets that include accommodation will only be sold until September 22nd due to hotel rate guarantee policies.  You will still be able to purchase a Conference Only pass but will be responsible for securing your own accommodation.

Day passes may be made available one month prior to the conference.

Tickets are refundable within 30 days of purchase if purchased prior to August 23rd, 2015.  Tickets purchased after August 23rd are non-refundable but are transferable until September 23rd, 2015.  Tickets that are purchased  after September 23rd are non-refundable and non-transferable.

While we promise to do our best to put you in touch with someone on our waiting list if needed, many of our materials (tickets, sponsored giveaways, etc.) are personalized, so we regret that we will be unable to offer any ticket refunds or accommodate transfer requests after September 23rd.

Booking Additional Hotel Nights

UPDATED: Le Westin is currently sold out for the duration of the conference.  See Additional Accommodation Options for more information.

Le Westin is offering FBC2015 attendees a special hotel rate for three nights on either side of the conference of $149/night.  This rate is only guaranteed until September 23rd, 2015.   If you wish to book additional nights for your stay, you can contact us directly and we will handle your booking to ensure you do not need to switch rooms during your stay.  You will be asked for a credit card upon check-in and your additional room nights will be charged to your card.

Additional Accommodation Options

Currently, Le Westin is sold out during our conference.  However, excellent and affordable accommodations can be found through Air BnB or, alternatively, you can try Expedia if you prefer a hotel room.

Roommates

If you purchase a Double Occupancy ticket you will be assigned a roommate by the conference organizers.  If you have a friend who is coming to the conference as well, and you would like to be roommates, drop us a note and we will make it happen!

The Hotel

Le Westin is a 4 Diamond hotel with a 4 Key Rating from the Green Key Eco rating system.  Built in the old Montreal Gazette newspaper building, it is located on the edges of Old Montreal and is just steps from major attractions, shopping, dining, and history.

Le Westin is located about 25 minutes from Pierre Elliot Trudeau International Airport (YUL) and is walking distance from Montreal's Metro system (Station Place-d'Armes).  There is also a Bixi Bike Rental right outside the hotel (Montreal's city wide bike rental program).

The Westin Hotel chain is known for its Well Being Movement that operates around 6 pillars of wellness: Sleep Well, Eat Well, Move Well, Feel Well, Work Well and Play Well.  You will experience all of these during your stay, including their exceptional fitness facilities, their amazing Heavenly Beds, their healthy dining options and more.

The SWAG Bag

The FBC Swag bag is a notoriously jam packed affair.   If you are flying to Montreal, please ensure you allow room in your return luggage - you will need to check a suitcase.

Pre-Conference SWAG: in the event that we have some swag items that are shipped to attendees prior to the conference, please note these will be for BLOGGER attendees only.  Sponsors, industry attendees and speakers will not receive these items.

Change of Address

If you purchase a ticket and move between the time of purchase and October 23rd, it is your responsibility to inform us of your change of address.  This is crucial for pre-conference swag shipping,  pre-conference mailings, etc.

English, French or Both?

Montreal is a truly bi-lingual city with French and English both widely spoken.   While signage will always be first and foremost in French,  you needn't be concerned if your French is a bit rusty.  Having said that, we encourage you to try out your French while visiting!

Dietary Restrictions

If you suffer from a food allergy or illness that may require medical attention during your stay, please be sure to let us know.  We will share this information with the hotel staff and all precautions will be taken to ensure your safety.

We recognize that many people avoid certain foods for religious, ethical and lifestyle reasons.  Please feel free to let us know if there are certain foods you avoid for these reasons (disliking a food is not a valid reason).  We will do our best to accommodate reasonable requests but our priority will be ensuring the safety of guests with serious medical concerns.

Dress Code

We are not a fancy bunch.  Wear clothing that you are comfortable sitting and moving around in.  Hotels can be a bit chilly so we suggest layers.  If you want to get a little dressier, dinner is the time to break out the extra sparkle!

Transportation

By Air:

The nearest airport is Pierre Elliot Trudeau Airport, about 25 minutes from downtown.  A taxi is the best way to get downtown from the airport and will cost about $40.

By Rail:

VIA rail offers service to Montreal's Central Station from various cities.  Booking early can make rail travel extremely inexpensive.  From Central Station you can take the Metro (subway) that will drop you about a 5 minute walk from Le Westin (Station Place-d'Armes).
