On the first and third Monday of every month on her YouTube channel, food trends expert Dana McCauley gives us the lowdown on the trends that are happening in the food world. Stop by FBC on following Tuesdays for a little extra insight from Dana on how you as a food blogger can use this information in your work!
Brain Wave
As our population ages, product developers are focusing on foods, beverages, games (and more!) projects that will help stave off life altering diseases such as dementia and Alzheimer's.
Simultaneously, our society's career expectations are transforming from a model where, just a generation ago, people got jobs, kept jobs and retired with pensions. Today the new 'normal' is that there is little job security and employees are expected to do more with fewer resources; consequently, the expectation on us by employers and clients to be in tip-top creative and productive form each day, sees younger people experimenting with products and foods that will help them stay sharp.
Thus, a new opportunity arises for all of us! If you view your blog as a product (and I hope you do!), you can leverage these insights by creating content that gives your readers culinary and lifestyle solutions that empower them to feel in charge of their brain health.
As always, look for books, blogs and resources that quote credible scientific sources as you do you research and write your posts. If you’re already up to speed on this topic and have recommendations for such resources, please share them below in the comments section so that all of us can learn more, too!
