Every Monday on her YouTube channel, food trends expert, Dana McCauley gives us the low down on the trends that are happening in the food world. Stop by FBC on Tuesdays for a little extra insight from Dana on how you as a food blogger can use this information in your work!
One of the things you learn as a trend tracker is that as a trend builds and becomes mainstream the marketplace gets crowded; it becomes harder for players to find their own little piece of white space where they can stand out. Such is the current state of affairs in the juice business.
The lessons learned from watching the increased segmentation in the healthy juice realm provide a great example for all types of businesses. Think about any iconic brand whether it’s Martha Stewart, Lu Lu Lemon or Blackberry. Eventually these leaders are confronted by copycats and innovators who start to crowd the space and add new features to woo the market. The same is true for blogs. Remember when Recipe Blogs and Mommy Blogs were a new thing? Today, finding a way to stand out and develop your brand is increasingly difficult but also essential if you want to thrive in the digital world. How are you adding a new voice to the food blogging world? Do you have a unique offering that has broad appeal or are you focusing on a small but unserved niche?
