Sweet Corn Spectacular

We're very excited to be able to send one lucky FBC Member a signed copy of Marie Porter's new book, Sweet Corn Spectaular.  Marie blogs at Celebration Generation and is one of our Canadian Members Abroad and Sweet Corn Spectacular is the latest in her collection of published cookbooks.

From the publisher:

The height of summer brings with it the bounty of fresh sweet corn.

Grilled or boiled, slathered in butter and sprinkled with salt, corn on the cob is a mainstay of cook-out menus. But this “vegetable” can grace your plate in so many other ways. In fact, author and baker Marie Porter once devised an entire day’s worth of corn-based dishes to celebrate her “corn freak” husband’s birthday.

Sweet Corn Spectacular displays Porter’s creative and flavor-filled approach to this North American original, making tasty use of corn kernels in the categories of appetizers, condiments, main dishes, beverages, and, of course, dessert. She shares tips for preparing fresh corn, from boiling to steaming to grilling to smoking, and then the fun begins.

All you have to do to enter is head on over and check out the book on Marie's site.  Come back here and leave us a comment letting us know which of the recipes listed would be your first choice to try out at home.

Entries must be posted by Sunday, July 28th at 6pm Pacific Time.  The winner will be chosen via random.org and will be announced in the Weekly FBC News on July 29th.

Marie is also open to guest posting her recipes and has some great photography to offer so if you'd like to get in touch with her to arrange something,  you can.

Marie’s book looks fantastic! I think I’d try the corn souffle first. Always wanted to try a souffle! Although the liqueur sounds intriguing. 😉

Oooh Sweet Corn Risotto sounds delicious! I’m intrigued by the idea of Corn Soufflé too. This looks like a great book!
