The news is jam packed this week so let's get to it:

Membership Registration Closed: January 29th - Feb 3rd

As you may have heard in our monthly newsletter that went out last week and a few mentions here and there, we're relaunching the FBC site on Monday, February 3rd.  We're extremely excited about this - it's been a few months in the making!  However, as part of the final prep and testing, we will be closing our Membership Application/Registration this Wednesday, January 29th and reopening it when we launch.  Other than that, it should be business as usual on the site!  Thanks for your patience.

Simple Bites & Jamie Oliver

Congratulations to FBC Member Aimée Wimbush-Bourque of Simple Bites on being asked to be a regular contributor to Jamie Oliver's website! Aimee is the only Canadian writer contributing to the Jamie Oliver blog and her first post, Breakfast Oatmeal Apple Pie was published last week.  Be sure to check it out if you haven't already!

Just a Smidgen and Artful Blogging Magazine

We're sure many of you are fans of the beautiful print magazine, Artful Blogging published by Stampington.  FBC Member Barb Bamber of Just a Smidgen in Alberta is being featured in the spring issue!  If you're not familiar with Stampington/Somerset they publish a wonderful series of magazines that pertain to creatives and creative entrepreneurs - including Where Women Cook - which often features many well-known food bloggers! ).  You can pick up a copy of Artful Blogging at most Chapters/Indigo stores.

La Poutine Week is Back! (Montreal, Quebec City, Ottawa, Toronto)

30 different restaurants in Montreal will be pushing the limits to create a special poutine for 10$ or less only for the week of La Poutine Week. Fans and eaters are then asked to vote on www.LaPoutineWeek.com so a poutine champ can be
crowned as the best Poutine in the city by the end of the week.

Co-founded by FBC member Na'eem Adam, La Poutine Week goes on from the 1st to the 7th of February and it’s not only in Montreal, but Quebec City, Ottawa and Toronto as well.  We know our QC and ON members won't want to miss out on this festival!
