The May 2014 Weekly News is brought to you by Canadian Lentils.
We'll keep it short and sweet with today's news but here's a just a few of the things we have for you to watch out for this week!
- The FBC Monthly Newsletter will be hitting inboxes this week
- We'll have 10 takeaways for you from Canada's most respected culinary conference, Terroir Symposium, with FBC Contributor Shareba Abdul
- David Ort will be back with an Eastern Canada edition of Canada's Craft Beer
- We'll be launching a new group pinterest board, Loving Lentils
- Time to get your grilling recipes ready for our Grilling Roundup call out!
And can we just take a minute to say how cool is that Potato Bun in our News photo today? We love what Jon from the Local Kitchener came up with as a bun alternative and that he shared it with us in our FBC Food Photography Group on Flickr. Are you on flickr? Got some great photos? Be sure to join our group and we could feature you in the Weekly News (be sure to add the link to your corresponding blog post so we can give it a shout out too!)
Chefs For Oceans Crosses Canada
While there's absolutely no doubt we're thrilled to be working with Executive Chef Ned Bell of the Four Seasons Hotel Vancouver and Yew Seafood + Bar for FBC2014, we're equally excited to tell you all about Chef Bell's upcoming Chefs for Oceans cycling trip across Canada to support sustainable seafood.
On July 1st, Chef Bell will leave St. John's, Newfoundland on his bike for a 10 week cycling trip that will see him hit cities across Canada raising awareness of, and building support for, sustainable seafood from coast to coast. If you would like to support Chef Bell's ride, you'll want to keep an eye on his schedule to see when he hits your town and head out to cheer him on or check out one of the events he'll be attending. Or you can donate to the campaign. Or you can do all three!
We're Throwing a Party - #FBCParty
If you missed it last week, we're throwing a twitter party next week! We have a lot of fun working with brands on their twitter parties so we thought it might be just as fun to throw our very own and invite all our members - or just anyone who loves food, drink and blogging! We have great prizes up for grabs, including a grand prize of a new iPad, some special co-hosts and more. Be sure to RSVP so you can join in and be eligible to win!
A big welcome to all our new members this week. Don't forget, you can request access to our private Facebook FBC Forum Group to connect with your fellow bloggers.
