FBC2014 Conference

We have had so many emails, twitter DMs, FB messages and in person questions about if/when/where will there be an FBC2014.  So we are pretty darn excited to let you all know that FBC2014 is a go!   Be sure to drop by the site tomorrow when we'll be making our "Save the Date" announcement!

Team Food Gypsy Takes 5th Place at the World Burger Championship

FBC Members Team Food Gypsy placed 5th overall in the World Burger Championships at the World food Championships in Las Vegas last month.  As a result they'll be featured as a top ten finalist in the upcoming six part television series airing spring 2014 on A&E networks.  As the top finishing Canadian team they brought home a $1,000 cheque, a shiney metal and memories to last a lifetime.  You can read all about their experience on their blog.

Big congrats to Corinna Horton and her teammate Dianne Meagher!  Can't wait to see the TV special!

Eat Halifax Wins At the Restaurant Association of Nova Scotia Awards

Congratulations are also in order for FBC Regional Admin, Kathy Jollimore.  Her blog, Eat Halifax, won the best Food & Beverage Media Award at the annual Restaurant Association of Nova Scotia Awards!  To qualify for the award the winner had to display

Exceptional promotion of the food & beverage industry of Nova Scotia via one or more types of food journalism: reporting, feature writing, column writing, restaurant reviews, special projects/series, magazine food writing, blogs, social media ambassador and food visuals

That certainly describes Eat Halifax in a nutshell and we couldn't be prouder of Kathy and are so glad she's part of our team!

What a fantastic newsy post. Absolutely thrilled about the announcement tomorrow – and am a tad worried about the date as Spring is already so booked for me. My fingers are crossed! Kudos to the two of you for pulling this off. Not an easy task!
