KitchenAid Cook For The Cure Culinary Showdown News
We have some news to share that we're pretty excited about. As you all know, FBC is a proud sponsor of KitchenAid Canada's Cook For The Cure Program. Several of our members have chosen to raise funds for this worthwhile cause, (thank you!!) with the possibility of earning a spot at the Culinary Showdown on December 7th and cooking with some of Canada's top celebrity chefs like Lynn Crawford, Chuck Hughes, Mark McEwan, Vikram Vij, Corbin Tomaszeski and Tyler Florence.
Well we're pretty excited that FBC will be at the event. Melissa will be sitting on the judging panel for the Cook for the Cure Culinary Showdown! She's pretty pumped to be taking part and getting a chance to spend a few days in Toronto with some FBC Members!
There is still time for you to join in and fundraise and, remember, there is a KitchenAid stand mixer in the signature Cook for the Cure Raspberry Ice colour up for grabs to one of our lucky members who manages to fundraise at least $250! (details were in the October 30th FBC newsletter!)
Alice Eats Winners
We have winners! Thanks to the generous folks at Whitecap Books we had two copies of Alice Eats by Pierre A. Lamielle and Julie Van Rosendaal to giveaway.
The winners, as chosen by random.org are: Clara Lau and Nicole Harling
Congratulations ladies! We'll be in touch for your mailing details shortly so we can get those books out to you!
And stay tuned, we'll have more cookbook giveaways in December!
Holiday Roundup Submissions
We've started accepting submissions for our Holiday Roundups (yes... if we get enough, there will be more than one!). You can find out all the details for submitting your posts on our Holiday Roundup Submissions page. This is open to recipes, entertaining ideas and holiday food events in your city.
For those of you who wonder about participating in our roundups, we wanted to share with you that our Grey Cup Roundup was one of our most trafficked posts - not just of the month, but of the year - with a lot of that traffic coming from Google search. We hope those of you who participated saw some of that traffic come your way. And... for those of you putting together a 2014 editorial calendar, it might be a topic you want to consider adding to your blog instead of (or in addition to) competing with Super Bowl recipes posts!
Share Your Hot Drink Recipes
As we gear up for the holidays we're building some epic seasonal Pinterest boards with your best posts. Our seasonal boards have done really well, getting lots of repins and traffic so we're starting early so you can all get some traction. Check the site every Thursday for Pin It Thursday and feel free to share your recipe or entertaining ideas for a repin.
Last week's board was Hot Drink Recipes. Be sure to drop us a link in the comments with your best picks from your blog. And check back this Thursday for our latest theme!
