brought to you by Janes Family Foods
Summer is here and we know there's lots of great food events and festivals happening across the country. Be sure to check out our events sections to see what's happening all across Canada this July. Know of an event that your fellow food bloggers might be interested in? Drop us a line!
Cheesepalooza
Are you a cheese lover? Always wanted to try making your own? A group of Edmonton food bloggers, including FBC Member, Valerie from A Canadian Foodie, and have spearheaded a year long Cheesepalooza project and have asked us to extend an invitation on their behalf for all of you to join them. The project includes monthly cheese making challenges, the first of which will be announced August 1st. If you think you'd be up for learning to make your own cheese and have some fun along the way, then you can check out all the details on the Cheesepalooza page! We're curious to see how everyone makes out!
Moodie Foodies App
Ever feel like you're hungry but just aren't sure what you want to eat? Well, national food retailer Sobeys have just launched their fun Moodie Foodie app for the iPhone and iPad that offers up suggestions of what to make based on your mood. You can download the Moodie Foodie app over at the Apple App Store (it’s free!). And, we have a $50 Sobeys gift card to give away to one FBC member. Check out our Member's Only offer to find out how to enter!
Food Photography Workshops and Recap
If you missed it, we posted a recap for our Food Photography workshop last weekend in Vancouver and a few of our members have posted links in the comments to their own blog posts. Be sure to check them all out if you're curious about some of the tips and tricks we learned from Jackie Connelly.
We would love to work on rolling out more food photography workshops across Canada - if you're interested in helping us bring one to your city, please let us know. Ethan and Melissa are both in Vancouver so it was our natural first choice. We hope to do one with Mardi later in the year in Toronto and if you'd like to be our eyes and feet in your city please get in touch!
TechmunchTO
The popular Techmunch series of one day conferences combining food, tech, marketing and media is making it's first Canadian stop in Toronto this July 22 at Harbourfront Centre. Tickets are on sale for $143.50 for the day but there is promo on the website for food bloggers that will bring your price down to $84.50. Jodi Lewchuk, FBC Member and author of Nostrovia will be participating as a speaker in the Story and Content presentation. If you're close to downtown Toronto, this promises to be a fun and informative event!

Can’t wait for cheesepoolza to get started! Ordered my book and teamed up with my mom for the challenges. Looks like fun and I hope lots of people sign up!
Thanks so much for the shout out, Melissa! We would love to get a bevy of Canadian Food Bloggers to join this project! This would be another way to collaborate and to learn about local artisan cheeses in other areas of Canada as we work through the cheese making process together!
🙂
Valerie
I am loving the Moodie Foodie app!!! It’s definitely an interesting idea!
