Like the rest of the world, Canada is smitten with Deb Perelman of Smitten Kitchen. She visited both Vancouver and Toronto as part of her Smitten Kitchen Cookbook tour. In both cities, the line-ups were long, the smiles were everywhere and Deb patiently signed every book while chatting everyone up as only she can.

While Deb was in Canada in early November touring her book, The Smitten Kitchen Cookbook hit the New York Times Best Seller list and has stayed in the Top 5 ever since! Is Canada a good luck charm or was that just a coincidence? Let's say it was a little bit of both!

This year, I get to go to Ontario for Christmas (for the first time in 8 years) and I get to have Christmas with my dad (for the first time in about 20 years) and I get to have Christmas with my very first nephew (for the first time ever since he’s only 5 months old!). I can’t wait!

I am looking forward to having Christmas with my brand new nephew, and my 2 year old niece. The holidays are so much more fun with kids to share it with!

I’m mostly looking forward to just spending time with family, especially family that’s been away 🙂 Speaking just of food though I’m looking forward to my mother in laws apple pie. So simple but soooo good 😀

As it’s just the three of us this year instead of a crowd, I’m looking forward to making a completely local, completely from-scratch Christmas dinner.

I’m definitely most looking forward to some time off and just hanging out with my husband. Of course, seeing family and friends for Christmas dinners will be nice too. 🙂

I’m looking forward to spending Christmas with family. Especially with those from back east who only get to Vancouver every couple of years. Oh and the food. I’m looking forward to that too!

Happy Holidays!

We have just moved to Canada from Australia so it is our FIRST White Christmas, and our first Christmas alone as a little family. We are going to love every minute!

This holiday season I am looking forward to smell of gingerbread cookies and fresh spruce in the house, snow behind the window, kisses under the mistletoe and something magical to happen in my life!

There are many things I look forward to – the festive food (of course!), Christmas lights and the joyful faces all around me.
