Name: Angie
Blog name: Friday is Cake Night
Where were you born? Fort St. John, BC
Where are you living now? Fort St. John, BC
Why did you start your blog?
I started my blog after seeing how happy my kids were with their hobbies. My TV friends were getting the best of my time. I needed a hobby of my own.
How did you decide on your blog name?
We try to eat pretty healthy most of the time but like to kick back on Friday nights with a treat. Mainly cake. At first I would pick a cake up on my way home from work but then started really enjoying making cakes for Friday night.
What do you blog about?
I blog about what's happening in my kitchen. My work life, lack of social life and anything in between.
Which post on your blog most encapsulates you?

One of my recent posts for raspberry-coconut cream stuffed french toast I featured a few pictures of my kids helping me out. I really want them to have memories of us in the kitchen together.
Which post do you wish received more love and why?

Isn't it funny when the ones you really think. "Ok, this is it" turn out to be less than stellar. The best thing about my blog being a hobby is I don't worry too much. On to the next! I really thought this one on mini peach pies would do well since it's so much easier than slicing the peach and they're so portable!
Which post's success surprised you and why?

My three ingredient popsicle recipe got some crazy traffic. I actually whipped these up while camping. Just goes to show - sometimes simple is best!
What's your biggest challenge as a blogger?
Time! I work a full time job in the oil & gas industry. In addition to my husband and kids, I find most days there's just not enough hours to go around.
Share a couple of your favorite food blogs to read. Why do you like them?
Of course I'm always checking out the FBC members blogs. When I first joined I was drawn to Art and the Kitchen. Some great family meals going on there.
It was an unlikely attraction being cake and paleo but Raj and Holley of The Primal Desire caught my eye as well. They're always making me laugh.
The Pioneer Woman is my all time favorite. I find her funny and down to earth with recipes I know will be a hit with my family.
Favorite food - care to share a recipe or a restaurant destination?
The best meal I've had to date was the beef wellington at Gordon Ramsay Steak in Las Vegas. I pretended to use the bathroom twice just to get a look at the winner of Hell's Kitchen.
What are you working on next for your blog?
My blog is less than a year old so I feel like I'm just getting started. I recently became a brand ambassador so I'm really excited about that!
What else should we know about you that may or not be in your "About me"?
I've never lived anywhere else but this small town of Fort St. John. In fact, I'm raising the fourth generation of children here. My husband's father and my father were good friends when they were growing up. Both of our parents still live here as well. We're so fortunate to have family close by.
What makes your blog unique?
I'm not sure I'm really all that unique but I'm not trying to be like anyone else. I just focus on what's going on in my kitchen and our day to day life.
