Can you believe it? We're already half way through the first month of 2016!
It's already been a busy month for us here at FBC - we'vecompleted our first trip of the year with a visit to Toronto for the kick off to the International Year of the Pulse celebrations with Chef Michael Smith, Canadian Lentils and lots of FBC Members!
And while we were in Toronto, we spent a day visiting the Delta Toronto, home of FBC2016 this October. While we were there we met with hotel's talented executive chef, Dan Craig, formerly of EBO in Vancouver. And we spent some time with our Delta event planner to start getting the lay of the land so we can start planning an exciting program for the conference!
Another great highlight of our trips was getting to visit Loka - the former popup restaurant that now has a permanent home on Toronto's Queen Street West. Loka is the result of the hard work of FBCers Dave and Ayngelina of Bacon is Magic and... wow! It was amazing. FBC was very proud to support their kickstarter campaign last year and it was awesome to see (and taste!) the end result. Definitely stop by if you're in Toronto (and wear your stretchy pants!)
