Food Trends TV: Bonkers for Beets | Food Bloggers of Canada

I grew up eating and enjoying beets in the form of borscht (made by my Ukrainian grandmother) and as pickles (made by my Anglo grandmother). I considered beets a normal part of my diet so I was surprised when I got older and ventured out into the world to discover that many people thought beets were horrible.

Well, as you’ll learn in the week three of the Food Trends TV Mid-year Flavour Forecast, beets are now a popular food in-and-of themselves. They’ve grown in popularity to become a bona fide darling of chefs and are lending their flavour to a plethora of new grocery store food products, too.

Has your opinion of beets been elevated in recent years? And, if it has, what prompted you to give them a second chance?
