Food Trends TV: Raw Food Ruckus | Food Bloggers of Canada

I don’t usually focus much attention on diet trends and fads but every once in while it becomes necessary. For instance, when something like Atkins or Gluten Free has a significant impact on the grocery and foodservice industries, trend trackers need to study up and have opinions about how their clients can capitalize on the trend with minimal, smart investment. Likewise, when a diet is just so convoluted or confusing that people keep asking what the heck it’s all about, it’s time for me to become an educator. Such is the case with Raw Food. The Science behind this diet is thin and the various claims and practices found online make clearly defining this diet very difficult. In fact, acceptable forms of Raw eating vary from those who consume only plant based foods to others who still say the diet can include uncooked red meat and fish.

I did discover one solid truth about the Raw Food Diet: there are ways for almost all food businesses – including blogs – to get in on this trend and offer information and products that people who are curious about raw eating can easily try out in a trusted environment.
