After an extremely successful theatrical run at the TIFF Bell Lightbx in Toronto, Spinning Plates is now available on DVD, Blu-ray and digital download. Spinning Plates features three extraordinary restaurants and the inspiring people who bring them to life.
Directed by Joseph Levy (The Ultimate Recipe Showdown), the awe-inspiring documentary shines light on three very different restaurants: Breitbachs, a mom-and-pop diner that only stands because of the remarkable bond in their community, Alinea, Grant Achetz’s world-renowned molecular gastronomy masterpiece and La Cocina de Gabby, a Mexican restaurant started by a man who wanted the world to taste his wife’s cooking. The documentary brings together inspiration and reality to show the world what happens when we cook together.

Spinning Plates follows three extraordinary restaurants and the incredible people who make them what they are. These stirring stories range from Alinea, the seventh-best restaurant in the world, whose chef, Grant Achatz, must battle life-threatening cancer, to a 150-year-old family restaurant in Iowa with an unbreakable bond with its community and a fledgling Mexican restaurant whose immigrant owners risk everything to provide a better life for their young daughter.

Spinning Plates recently opened in the US and Canada to rave reviews and has won Audience Awards at the Austin Film Festival, Santa Barbara International Film Festival and Naples International Film Festival. The film has also picked up Best Documentary Awards at the Maui Film Festival and Vail Film Festival.
