Gifts For Good

We can't wrap up (get it... wrap... haha) without sharing two of our favourite causes for you to consider...

1. ABC's & Rice is an organization helping to feed, educate and give children in Cambodia a better life.  They pay families a stipend of rice in order that children can go to school, play and just be kids instead of having to work to help support their families.  They always appreciate help.

2. The Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation.  We may have just wrapped up the KitchenAid Cook For the Cure Fundraiser but that doesn't mean you can't keep giving to support diagnosis, treatment and post treatment support of women and men battling this disease.

Gifts for You - Yes! A Giveway

We're very excited to have four books up for giveaway with this Gift Guide.  We have two copies of Butter Baked Goods (thank you Appetite by Random House) and two copies of The Pioneer Woman Cooks - A Year of Holidays (thank you Ree!) up for grabs.  All you have to do is leave a comment below telling us what you would like for Christmas! This giveaway is only open to Canadian residents.  The deadline to enter is December 23rd at 9pm Pacific Time.  We'll announce our winners on December 30th.

Marianne

On my foodie Christmas wishlist this year are a pizza stone, cast iron skillet, the Burgoo cookbook, and a tripod for food photography.

Vincci

I could always use gift certificates to Chapters or Amazon to buy books, whether they’re cookbooks or just books about food or nutrition!

Redawna

The strength to make it through the day with a smile. My son deserves nothing less. Wrapping up a really hard year and the day is just not going to be easy.

Helena

What a great list! Blog Inc, Canada’s Favorite Recipes & Butter Baked Goods look AWESOME!!

What I really want for Christmas…actually to be honest, nothing! I have everyone I need right here & that’s all I need. It didn’t always be like this but things change!

I think I sound cheesy…but it’s the truth! 🙂

Nicole

I’m hoping to find Saving with Jamie under my tree on Christmas morning.

Don

Hmm… A copy of Pok Pok, ingredients to make recipes, a kitchen to cook with, and a new 24-70mm lens to shoot the results 🙂

Alex Bielak

The Gin kit pls! Just did a piece on an artisinal distillery in Beamsville (Dillons) and on Trafalgar who do a (far more expensive) barrel ageing kit for rye

A Canadian Foodie

I am all over the homemade gin kit – novel and a great gift. Haven’t seen it before. These are the kinds of kits I love to get and give.
Great book pick. Really lovely post… thank you so much for taking and making the time to do this… and now that I know you will get a little bit of something, I would come back to click through to buy, if I am going to. And I am sure there are more than a couple things here I will buy.

Sarah

I asked for a veggie spiralizer. I think I see a box the right size under the tree. Here’s hoping!

Lillian

I would love any food related item under the tree! The enamel cookware or the wine subscription sounds awesome! In terms of cookbooks I’ve had my eye on Alice’s eats and the butter baked goods looks great!

Stephanie McIntosh

Just found this site. Would love a new kitchenaid this year as mine is starting to show its years!

Jennifer

I think I’ll be needing a new laptop soon (seems I’ve filled up this one with so much stuff it’s slow as molasses these days). Hoping there might be one under the tree.

Korena

I’m hoping Santa brings me a new oven, but I’m not sure how he’d get it down the chimney? That crazy little tripod would be pretty helpful, too!

Jessie Harrold

Thanks for a great post! I am hoping for a new laptop, because all of my high-res photos and other blog-related stuff have already crashed my old one, and are on the way to killing my husband’s….. New laptop = renewed marital bliss.

Katina

I want to win my family’s annual Iron Chef Christmas Competition. Oh yeah, there are high stakes – there’s a trophy with a spot for the winner’s name to be engraved on it every year!

Otherwise, this list looks awesome. I saw the Butter Baked Goods book the other day and it looks great; so does the bakeset.

Mama B

I honestly don’t know what I want this year, much to my husband’s chagrin. Telling him “something thoughtful” doesn’t really help, apparently. LOL I want the snow to stay. I want the days that my husband has off to last, but not drag. I want the kids to have a fabulous Christmas. I want to open something that leaves me teary in the best way. But I have no clue what that would be.

Karen Ahmed

For Christmas I would love a blowtorch. I’m deathly afraid of fire and have resisted since …but I’m dying to make an perfect several twists on Creme Brulee!

Krista

I would love a Le Creuset French oven and a big cast iron frying pan! But I have already received my favourite gift ever: my baby girl, born this fall.

Moe Tousignant

The top cooking related item on my list is a good Chef’s knife. The block of knives we got for our wedding aren’t cutting it anymore 😉

Janice Lawandi

I’m not sure what I want for Christmas. I’m pretty sure I asked Santa for something, but I can’t remember what! So… I guess Santa will surprise me. I’d love a new camera lens, and maybe a new camera body, but that’s asking too much… so how about that Butter baked goods book! I would LOVE that book 😉

Andrea

To be honest I have nothing that I really want per se. Maybe a 50mm lens for my camera to take better food photos.

Francine

I hope Santa read your gift guide, because I’d take anything from it! But if I have to say one specific item, it would be a tablet.

Christina

I just can’t wait to see the look on my son’s face Christmas morning. In my fantasy world I also get and iPad but I’m ok if that doesn’t happen. 😉
