It's officially spring! Well, that's what the calendar says anyway. Take heart everyone.. it is on its way! Here's what's happening this week:
New FBC Member Opportunities
We have some new and fun opportunities for FBC Members! One is a sampling program with the chance to be an ambassador for a great company in Nova Scotia called Pure Infused Maple Syrup. The other opportunity is a paid gig ($150/post) but we cannot disclose who it's with yet. It's a time-sensitive project (get your submission in by March 24th) so we're compiling a list of names quickly so we can reach out to those selected later this week. Check out both opportunities here and you must be logged in with your FBC account to view them.
The Culinaire Treasure Hunt - CALGARY
On Saturday April 11, teams of food enthusiasts will navigate the streets of Calgary visiting selected locations on a culinary-inspired Treasure Hunt. This race across the city will involve solving riddles and clues to find their location, then performing tasks and getting their passport stamped before they can move on to the next location. The Culinaire Treasure Hunt runs from 10 am – 5 pm and will have participants doing all kinds of fun tasks & challenges!
This all-day event kicks off with a morning launch party at the Calgary Farmer’s Market and winds down with a wrap party at the Crossroads Farmers Market. Passports will be verified and winners given bragging rights and prizes! Registration is open.
Dinner Party YVR - VANCOUVER
FBC member and columnist Sondi Bruner is participating in Dinner Party YVR, a city-wide event where home cooks host dinner parties and all the proceeds go to local charities. She still has a couple of tickets left for her allergen-friendly (gluten-free + vegan) meal, which includes tomato soup with cashew goat cheese, butternut squash mac and cheese with greens, and chocolate chip cookie cake. Find out more at Dinner Party YVR. We think it sounds pretty tasty!
Meet Our Newest Team Members
We've revamped the FBC "Our Team" page this past week to make it easier for you to get to know our regular contributors. Shareba, Janice, Sondi, David and Todd have been writing for FBC for a while but now you can find out a little bit more about them and get links to all their great content on the FBC site! We hope to be welcoming a couple more faces over the next few months as well so stay tuned!
Food Mamma is Five
Food Mamma is five this month!! To help celebrate, she'll be hosting a few giveaways from some amazing sponsors for the remainder of the month. Be sure to check it out for chances to win!
