October is flying by at a pretty alarming rate.  Halloween posts are going up on blogs everywhere and I'm curious to know if any of you are doing Diwali posts this week to celebrate the Indian Festival of Lights?   It's very popular in my part of Canada and when I worked in an office, we were always inundated with fresh samosas and Indian sweets.  I'm a huge fan of anything that gets a fresh hot samosa and homemade chutney in my hands!

I've even seen some chatter on twitter about... gasp... Christmas posts!  What do you think?  Is it too early for Christmas on your blog?

Your Best 5 Ingredient Recipe

Hostelbookers brought us a great opportunity for our members to submit a 5 ingredient recipe idea for their HostelBookers’ Backpackers Recipe Guide.  If you think you've got a quick, simple and most of all, tasty, 5 ingredient recipe that can be cooked up in a hostel kitchen, this might be a fun event for you to participate in.  You can see all the details in our 5 Ingredient Recipe Forum post.

And just a reminder - the forums are a great place to start a conversation with your fellow food bloggers on everything from using social media to improving your photography.

What's Happening In Your Neighbourhood?

We're starting to prep our event calendars for November and December and we know that's a busy time of year for food and beverage events.  If you know of something happening in your neck of the woods, please feel free to send us the details.  It doesn't have to be a big city event but if it's related to food or drink, we want to know about it!

Featured Friday Bloggers

Over the last month we've featured some wonderful blogs from one of the country to the other, including Vanilla Bean Baker, Clockwork Lemon, Real Creative Eats, Toronto Tasting Notes and Vancouver Bits and Bites.  This is one of our favourite features because it means we get to spend a lot of time exploring new blogs.  And there are some great ones out there.  If you know of a blog that you just can't miss a post (and it's not your own...), then let us know about it.  You've seen some of our favourites - let's see some of yours!  There's just one catch - they must be an FBC member!
