Name: Jill Niver
Blog name: Miss Delish
Where were you born? Vancouver, BC
Where are you living now? Surrey, BC
Why did you start your blog?
I decided to start a food blog when I realized I was probably always boring my friends to death. I wanted an outlet where I could talk about food to other people that love it just as much as I do.
How did you decide on your blog name?
I asked a friend of mine to help me choose a name, and she came up with Miss Delish. I laughed at first and then I said “Sure, why not?” I had a few people comment that it could be perceived as risqué. I guess if the shoe fits?
What do you blog about?
The majority of my posts are original recipes with step by step directions and photos of the final product. However, I also post restaurant reviews, product reviews, and I even write about beauty now and then.
What post are you most proud of and why?

The post I am most proud of is my “Best Ever Homemade Lasagna.” I did the entire recipe start to finish as a step by step, so I took a photo of each step. Although it is super time consuming and at times, difficult to remember to take a photo every time you do anything, it is totally worth it in the end. I think that it makes the recipe much easier to follow, and allows the reader to see exactly what the dish should look like at each step. I also made the pasta sheets from scratch and linked the recipe and step by step for that. The lasagna turned out even better than I had imagined and I have received great reviews on it.
Which post do you wish received more love and why?

I really wish my recipe “Salted Caramel Drenched Cupcakes” received more love! I just thought they were so appealing, easy to make and freaking delicious. Oh, well.
Which post’s success surprised you and why?

The post that I think had the most surprising success would be the recipe for “Shrimp and Veggie Salad Rolls.” I really did love these and still do, but these were posted towards the beginning of my blogs lifetime, and my photography back then left a lot to be desired. It still does, actually, but at least I’m not taking photos on my back porch stairs…
What is one (non-kitchen) gadget you can’t live without?
My iPhone, 100%.
What is one kitchen gadget you can’t live without?
I would say my chef’s knife. My parents bought me a really nice set of Henckel knives when I first got into cooking and I love them, they are by far my most used item in the kitchen. My Kitchenaid mixer would be a very close second, though.
Favourite food, care to share a recipe?
Oh, goodness, I am terrible at choosing one favorite food. I love pasta, maybe a little too much, actually. I kind of try to avoid making pasta dishes for the sheer fact that I will eat it all. Of course, I have a few favorites:
