Blog Name & URL: The Little Locavore (www.thelittlelocavore.blogspot.ca)
Where were you born? Toronto
Where are you living now? Vancouver
Why Did you start your blog?
I have always been very interested in food, cooking, and eating. I wanted to learn about food from people who grow food, make food, or cook food. Blogging allows me share my experiences with others.
How did you decide on your blog name?
I was inspired by the book Locavore by Sarah Elton. My mom and I read this book together a few years ago.
What post are you most proud of and why?
I am most proud of being invited to cook with Vikram Vij, as his sous-chef, for his most recent VijCookLive webcast.
Which post did you wish received more love and why?

Crazy Cakes is my favourite bakery. I was really excited to blog about them and was looking forward to the experience. But it only got three page views. I thought it would get much more.
Which post’s success surprised you and why?

This post is about a new restaurant in Lethbridge Alberta. I didn’t think it would become my most read blog post. I’ve blogged about places and people that are more well known.
What is the one (non-kitchen) gadget you can’t live without?
I would have to say it’s Lego. I’m always building new cars and buildings and people. Lego is where I create when I’m not in a kitchen.
What is one kitchen gadget you can’t live without?
A sharp knife. This is the most important part of a kitchen. Apart from the chef.
Favourite food, recipe?
Chicken coconut curry. I learned to cook this when I was Vikram Vij’s sous-chef.
What else should we know about you that may or not be in your “About Me” page?
I’m fluent in French. I figure skate. And I’m going to learn to play trumpet this year.
What makes your blog unique?
Not many kids my age have food blogs. Many interesting “foodie” people are intrigued by what I’m doing, and have offered to teach me about what they’re doing and what they know. I then blog about those experiences.

Wow, pretty amazing I would say!
I bet it was pretty fantastic cooking with Vikram! I love his chicken coconut curry and make it often.
Thanks so much, Phyllis
