Each week, to help our readers with their meal planning, we invite an FBC member to put together a weekly menu plan based on recipes from their blog that includes a week’s worth of dinners from Sunday to Saturday. We include a printable shopping list so you can get everything you need and be ready to cook. And you’ll get introduced to some new recipes and meet some great new Canadian food blogs!

Now that school is back, and activities have picked up for everyone, it's often hard to find time to cook and get everyone around the table at the same time. I often plan for one night and try to make it do two – or get packable lunches for me.

Sunday Dinner

I make soup Sunday nights so that I have something to take for lunch in the coming week. There's always something comforting about making a loaf of bread in the bread machine and a pot of Italian Wedding Soup. Save some baby spinach for Tuesday.

Monday Dinner

If you marinate overnight, this is quick to throw on the grill or in the oven when you get home from work. Garlic Balsamic Marinated Pork Tenderloin is my husband's favourite way to cook pork tenderloin. We eat one, and save the other for Wednesday.

Tuesday Dinner

We are big fans of dinner salads, and this is one of our favourites! Thai-Style Steak Salad is quick and easy on a busy night. You can make the carrot ribbons, or use julienned carrots, reserving some for Wednesday.

Wednesday Dinner

Take the second tenderloin and the julienned carrots and make a quick Pork Fried Rice. This makes enough for leftovers for lunch for a day when there's no soup.

Thursday Dinner

When I don't know what to make, we fall back on something simple. Often, Microwave Macaroni and Cheese, which I learned to make when I was 11, is perfect with a simple side salad or crudites.

Friday Dinner

I like something simple Friday nights after a long week at work. Making the pizza dough in the bread machine, and keeping shredded chicken in the freezer make this Buffalo Chicken Pizza a snap to put together.

Saturday Dinner

Saturdays here are for college football! When we're home, it's fingerfood in front of the TV. Teriyaki Chicken Wings are often on the menu with broccoli rice.

Things I Make (for Dinner) is where I keep track of the new recipes I've made, as well as some tried and true classics. Recently, I've been working towards more freezer-friendly foods that I can use for busy nights when I don't have time to cook. I'm always looking for ways to make the freezer even more of a friend.
