Canadian Living is coming to Vancouver for the very first time and Thanksgiving Favourites are on the agenda! Annabelle Waugh, Canadian Living's Food Editor will be holding court at the Miele Centre Vancouver. Don't miss out!
YYC Pizza Week
Friday Sept 26th marks the debut of YYC Pizza Week which runs until October 5th. Presented by the makers of YYC Burger Week, the event supports Calgary Meals on Wheels.
Over 40 of Calgary’s best Pizza Restaurants and Participants will engage in a 10 day Pizza Battle, putting up their best pizza in one of three categories; Thin, Thick, Unique. Partial proceeds of every pizza sold will go to Calgary Meals On Wheels. Winners in each category will be determined by an online public vote, and announced at a wrap party the following week. A monopoly style passport will be handed out to the public encouraging them to visit the restaurants, taste the pizzas, and get their passports stamped to win prizes!
9 local Food Bloggers are participating in a Food Blogger Pizza Challenge right now! They were given 3 Mystery Ingredients (Anchovies, Fire Roasted Tomatoes, Chestnut Puree) and asked to pick one to use and create a pizza. They will be posting their pizza photos on the YYC Pizza website and winners will be chosen by public vote.
FBC Member Pierre Lamielle from Food On Your Shirt and the Chopped Canada Champion is the creator of the Pizza Strong YYC Pizza Week T-shirts. Food On Your Shirt is selling the Pizza Week t-shirts on their website www.foodonyourshirt.com with partial proceeds of every shirt sold going to Calgary Meals on Wheels and Pierre is MCing our Media Launch next week!

Taste Canada Food Writing Awards Gala Tickets
Tickets for the Taste Canada Food Writing Awards Gala are now on sale. The awards celebrate the best of Canadian culinary publishing each year in Toronto. This year's awards gala is Monday October 20 from 5:30pm to 9:30pm at the Arcadian Court.
Meet the authors, the event's host Ricardo, industry leaders, culinary professionals, restaurant owners, chefs and fellow food lovers while tasting delicious dishes, wines and beers at the reception hosted by Gusto TV and top Toronto chefs and restaurants.
Early bird tickets are available for $85 on Eventbrite. Media and Bloggers can request short list news releases and apply for a limited number of press passes for accredited media outlets who would like to cover the awards through Crave PR
