Name: Claire
Blog name: Culinary Zest
Where were you born? Montreal, Quebec
Where are you living now? Moncton, NB
Why did you start your blog?
Culinary Zest was started basically to be my creative space. I love to cook. I love to watch others cook. I'm just a big Foodie in general! I had reservations about it being right for me, but I decided to experiment with it. I'm really glad I did. It's tons of work and then some, but I love it. It has proven to be something really satisfying for me.
How did you decide on your blog name?
A lot of trial and error! I wanted something appropriate, something easy to remember that sounded nice as well. I came up with Culinary Zest, it grew on me and that's how CulinaryZest.com came to be. I like it, but I'm biased!
What do you blog about?
I blog mainly about my culinary adventures, I’m starting to slowly add some other content not directly related to being a Foodie. Its primary purpose is to blog about my love for all things food.
What post are you most proud of and why?

Ginger Goodness. For the sole reason that it was the very first post on CulinaryZest.com. It marks my entry into the blogosphere!
Which post do you wish received more love and why?

Top Secret Zombie Cake Pops, just because I think its freaking hilarious. Yes, I'm probably the only one that feels that way and that’s OK! The end results were mixed, but the creative experience was priceless. It won't be most people's cup of tea, it’s not pixel perfection. I like to blog about it all, the successes and the semi-failures!
Which post’s success surprised you and why?

I've just taken Culinary Zest out of a 1 ½ year long hiatus. If only one person stops by to check it out, then that's success to me. It's one step in the right direction, it gives me the drive to push and go further. This post on Soy Ginger Garlic Dipping Sauce received my first legit comment. I'm going to say that was a success for me! I think I actually squealed when I got it.
What is one (non-kitchen) gadget you can’t live without?
Only one! I would have to go with my e-reader. It goes everywhere with me, I don't leave the house without it. I had no clue how much I would come to love it.
What is one kitchen gadget you can’t live without?
Again, only one! Hands down the winner every time is my KitchenAid Proline mixer. Without a doubt, the workhorse of my kitchen, the first serious piece of kitchen gear I purchased. Could I live without it? Probably. Do I want too? Nope!
Favourite food, care to share a recipe?
I seriously don't have just “one” favourite food. I can never just pick one! The moment I start thinking about the incredible choices out there, I realize I can't pick just one! IF you twist my arm, I'll have to go with anything Southeast Asian.
What else should we know about you that may or not be in your “About Me” page?
I'm adopted. Born to English/French Canadians, adopted by my Mom(France) and Dad(India). Can you say Multicultural!
What makes your blog unique?
Tough Question! I guess the easiest way to answer that is to say because it's born of my own adventures in Life. Those are uniquely mine; my blog is a part of me and is very much born of my experiences. Does that make it unique? I'll leave that up to my visitors!
