The New Messy Baker Cookbook

Congratulations to Charmian Christie, whose very first cookbook in print, The Messy Baker, is now available for pre-order from Amazon.ca and Chapters Indigo! You can pre-order your copy to ship in late August. If you read Charmian's blog regularly, you know this is going to be a must add to your cookbook collection. And, we'll be hosting a giveaway of Charmian's new book closer to publication!

New FBC Column Debuts Tomorrow!

We're excited to announce a new FBC Column debuting tomorrow. The Allergen Friendly Remix is a new column by regular FBC contributor, Sondi Bruner. Sondi is a Vancouver based holistic nutritionist and will be writing a monthly column for FBC where she'll take a basic, popular recipe and show you how to adjust it to fit different dietary requirements and still be delicious and satisfying.

So whether you're gluten-free, dairy free, egg free, vegetarian, vegan or cooking for somebody who is, she'll help you navigate those waters. First up... a summer favourite - Ice Cream! She'll also be tackling other summer staples like burgers and potato salad. A must read for sure! Masterchef Canada Open Casting Call - Season 2

CTV's Masterchef Canada is hosting an upcoming open casting call on July 12 and 13 in Toronto at the Intercontinental Toronto Centre Hotel (225 Front St W). Casting starts at 7am on both days and is open to all home cook hopefuls who would like to audition for Season 2 of CTV’s hit culinary competition MASTERCHEF CANADA. All applicants must bring a homemade dish to the audition, which will be tested by professional tasters. More information about the open call can be found here on Bell Media's PR site. Incredible Edibles Festival

“If you eat, you’re in”, is the catch phrase of this inaugural not for profit event being held in scenic downtown Campbellford, ON, on the Trent Canal. The focus of the Festival to increase public awareness of what’s available in the area as well as sustainability of our local farms. Over 40 vendors will be set up to sell a varied selection of foods obtained and/or made locally. Bison meatballs, cheese galore, goat cheese chocolate truffles are just a few of the items awaiting you. A fun day for the whole family and a wonderful way to enjoy the Trent Hills area.
